Voted in September 2019 as “one of the 50 coolest neighbourhoods in the world” by Time Out experts and editors, Footscray is a vibrant hub for cultural diversity, contemporary arts and fabulous food. Located a stone throw from the city and home to Victoria University, Footscray is a popular place to live for students and young singles as well as families from all walks of life.

Its industrial past boasts an eclectic array of housing from Victorian-era workers cottages and terraces, to post-war blocks of flats and units. An abundance of factories and warehouses are still to be found in and around the suburb, with some former industrial sites now being transformed into modern housing estates.
